Bromley's Environment Awards
« Back to Press ReleasesBromley's 19th Environment Awards Ceremony at the Bromley Civic Centre, Friday 27 June 2008, recognise and reward local sustainability initiatives that really make a difference to the quality of life in the borough, not only now but for generations to come.
Attended by over 130 guests, 29 awards were presented in categories ranging from new housing to pre-schools. the Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Denise Reddin, hosted this prestigious event that once again was sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline, and attended by special guest presenter T.V. weather forecaster and journalist Sian Lloyd. A panel of independant judges evaluated the short listed entries,and the winners in the Building Design Awards were presented with a plaque to be displayed on their building.
Purelake New Homes were winners in the Built Environment category for our development at Cudham Hall. In the first instance for Lord Derby Mews, six houses designed in a gated mews arrangement with paired villas fronting the gravel drive. The style and layout refers to the statutory Grade II listed Cudham Hall and its setting. In the second instance, for the refurbishment of Cudham Hall itself, an elegant Grade II listed country house resulting in new apartments, that retain the essence and spatial quality of the original building. The scheme also includes the re-creation of the former kitchen and pleasure gardens to the rear of the hall.
